KraussMaffei Group bundles strengths for higher impact in Brazilian market.

Broad Product Portfolios Under One Roof

May 9, 2011 - The KraussMaffei Group is bundling its strengths and expertise for a stronger market presence in Brazil. With effect from October 1, 2011, the KraussMaffei Group subsidiary in Brazil will operate under the name KraussMaffei Group do Brazil. The new subsidiary will market the products and services of all three group brands – KraussMaffei, KraussMaffei Berstorff and Netstal.

Strengthening the brand and product portfolios for the benefit of customers

“By amalgamating the operational business units of KraussMaffei and Netstal in each country under one organizational roof we will be strengthening our market presence. We’re bundling the expertise and skills of our employees, strengthening our brand portfolio and improving our portfolio of products and services. This will have clear benefits for our customers,” explained Dr. Dietmar Straub, CEO of KraussMaffei AG, at the Brasilplast show in São Paulo. On October 1, 2011, Klaus Jell, currently head of Netstal’s subsidiary in Germany, will take over as managing director of the new subsidiary, headquartered in São Paulo. “I’m delighted that with Klaus Jell we have secured the services of a competent and experienced plastics expert who has accumulated experience at KraussMaffei and at Netstal,” explains Straub. Klaus Jell joined KraussMaffei in 1992, while he was still working on his graduate thesis. In the same year, he moved to Netstal where, in 1996, he became Sales Manager for Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. In 2003, he became head of Netstal’s subsidiary in Germany.

Exploiting synergies – experienced plastics expert to head up subsidiary

“I’m looking forward to this new challenge,” says Jell. “With the new structure, we’ll be able to exploit existing synergies so as to better serve the market and benefit our customers,” he continues. Each brand will continue to operate independently in the market. Service activities will be expanded in line with the growing number of installations in Brazil. “Bundling all our activities boosts the benefits for our customers, because a coordinated approach gives them easy access to the extensive, high-end portfolio of the KraussMaffei Group. Our focus is very much on our customers’ specific requirements and the challenges they face – we aim to supply them with the right product and the right brand,” says Jell.

Growing demand for high-performance machines

The KraussMaffei Group has had a presence in Brazil for more than ten years. In this time, it has become successfully established as a technology leader and a competent partner with a portfolio of high-caliber products. Customers in the automotive, packaging and home appliance sectors in South and Latin America are increasingly interested in the application-specific solutions expertise in injection molding bundled by our KraussMaffei and Netstal brands. “We’re seeing this confirmed by the current growth in demand,” says Jell. In consequence, the company has decided to launch KraussMaffei’s all-electric AX and EX series in these markets. Pipe producers swear by lines and systems from KraussMaffei Berstorff, including high-performance compounding systems and production lines for window profiles, films and sheet. Netstal production solutions are targeted at the application areas thin-walled packaging, closures and PET preforms, and plastic components for the medical and technical sectors. The performance range of the company’s products and its application-oriented organization is optimally aligned with the target applications.
