Focusing on the environment, Interplast will host plastic recycling operations

During Interplast 2012, a project coordinated by SIMPESC - The Plastics Industry Association of Santa Catarina State - will seek to explain the recycling process and show just how much it is economically viable and important to the environment.

July, 2012 – The 7th edition of Interplast - Trade Fair and Congress of Plastic Technology Integration is scheduled to be held from August 20-24th, in Expoville’s pavilions in Joinville/SC. Consolidated as the plastic segment’s most important fair in Latin America in 2012, the event is a benchmark for solutions, alternatives and new technologies for the segment.

One of the novelties of this edition will be the Plastic Recycling Island Project, in partnership with SIMPESC, INP, PVC Institute and Plastivida organizations. Visitors who pass through the fair will be able to watch the plastic recycling process, which will be explained step-by-step, and also learn about the equipment involved and the work of the cooperatives. The project will be coordinated by SIMPESC. "The proposal is to demistify and to emphasize that plastics recycling is one of the most economical and environmentally sound processes among the various waste-recycling processes that are used today", states Richard Spirandelli, director of Messe Brasil.

Another highlight is the first edition EuroMold Brasil - International Trade Fair for Tool Manufacturers & Mold Builders, Design and Product Development held in parallel to Interplast. Made possible through a partnership between Messe Brasil and the German fair organizer DEMAT, the fair will bring together over 90 businesses in an area of 3,000 m²

In its 10,000 square meters, Interplast will bring together exhibitors coming from all over Brazil and other countries such as Germany, Argentina, Canada, China, North Korea, U.S., Israel and Taiwan. The companies will disclose the very latest technology in the plastics chain, from raw material to compounds, pigments, peripherals, tools and machinery in general.

Strategically held in Joinville, a city located in one of the major plastic poles and trade corridors of Latin America, Interplast facilitates contact between the area’s professionals and businesses as well as contributes to the sector’s development. In its last edition, over 25,000 people from 19 countries and 23 states in Brazil visited the event, specially executives and professionals from the segments of packaging, automotive/auto parts, construction and household appliances

Held simultaneously with Interplast, Cintec 2012 Plastic - Congress of Technological Innovation, will also take place, being organized by the Educational Society of Santa Catarina (Sociesc).
