Under a new name, FEIPLASTIC 2013 - the Brazilian International Plastics Trade Fair - is launched in São PauloFEIPLASTIC will occur May 2013 in São Paulo, Brazil, and already stirs the sector with a massive presence of supporting entities and partners at the launching event.
During the launching event, Juan Pablo De Vera, President of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, highlighted Abiplast’s participation, which presented to the company the challenge of renovating the trade fair. “The project involved months of work and tests in order to define the new product. We signed an agreement for another 20 years with the Association and now we have the big challenge of innovating and making Brazil the best business place for all,” he said. With investments of roughly R$ 5 million to increase disclosure to the market about the new trade fair, Feiplastic will also increase in terms of physical space. The exhibition area at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion will grow from the 78 thousand m² in 2011 to 85 thousand m² in 2013, encompassing the most diverse and important sectors in the plastics industry, broken down into the event’s three pillars: Business, Sustainability and Technology, which include companies that manufacture Basic Products and Raw Materials; Machinery, Equipment and Accessories; Molds and Tools; Plastics Processors; Synthetic Resins; Instrumentation, Control and Automation; Technical Services and Projects. “These are new concepts and proposals. Brazil is becoming stronger and stronger in Latin America, opening doors to other markets, and Feiplastic is here to satisfy this new reality,” said Abiplast’s President José Ricardo Roriz, stressing the importance of renovating. The plastics industry is the third biggest industrial employer in Brazil. Just in the state of São Paulo, the industry holds the number 2 position in the amount of jobs generated - at the end of 2011, in the state of São Paulo alone, the plastics industry employed roughly 190,000 people. Nationally, this figure totals 380,000 direct jobs and, indirectly, creates jobs for 600,000 people. With sustainability, recycling and renewal being ever more present on the agenda of companies, FEIPLASTIC 2013 shall promote even more the economy and technology of the sector, bringing together important brands, professionals from various areas and parts of the world, as well as a qualified buying audience. The latest launches and trends in products, services and equipment will all be under the same roof. The expectation for 2013 is to have 1,400 domestic and international exhibitors and 70,000 visitors/buyers. For Renato Endres, Abiquim’s Institutional Relations Director, who was also present at the Feiplastic launching ceremony, the plastics chain is so important that it deserves a trade fair of this magnitude. He also mentioned the importance of the thermoplastics resin segment and the federal government’s initiative of creating a Competitiveness Council for the chemical sector to address themes such as raw material costs, human resources training, expansion of research and development centers and increasing renewable energies. Throughout the aisles of the trade fair’s new edition, businessmen, engineers, technicians and students in areas such as automotive, civil construction, packaging, pharmacy, food and beverage, home appliances, electric-electronics and agribusiness will be in the best place for professional updating, doing business and exchanging knowledge. "Feiplastic is a very welcome project,” said Carlos Padovan, Abimaq’s Vice-President, during the ceremony. According to him, the new trade fair will play an important role in driving the plastics sector towards creating better conditions for the industry in Brazil. FEIPLASTIC will take place from May 20 to 24, 2013 at the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion, in São Paulo. For further information: Source: Reed Alcantara Machado
