Feiplastic 2013: The Largest Plastics Exhibition in Latin America Propels Businesses and Fosters Job Creation and SustainabilityNew technologies, productivity and environmental concerns make Feiplastic a new model for the entire trade fair supply chain sector.
According to the Brazilian Association for the Plastics Industry, Abiplast, the sector is the second largest industrial employer in the State of São Paulo, and the third largest in the country, which representing 4% of all employment generated within Brazil. Another example of the influence of this sector was the creation of the Council for Competitiveness in the chemical sector; a Federal government initiative. Renato Endres, Director of Institutional Relations for the Brazilian Association of Chemical Industry, Abiquim, explains that the council deals with themes such as, "the cost of raw materials, human resources training, the expansion of research and development centers and with increasing renewable energy for the chemical industry", topics which will be addressed at FEIPLASTIC 2013. The fair is based on the need for market evolution, which means that it is aligned with important global trends. Together with the natural tendencies of business opportunities and current new trends in the industry, the issue of sustainability confirms its strength in the Brazilian economy. According to Abiplast, Brazil already has 801 companies dedicated to the recycling of post-consumer plastics, with a combined capacity to process 1.2 million tons of material. In 2011, this number represented gross sales of R$ 2,201,000.00, employing 21,266 people. "One of our goals is to show the exhibitors and visitors / buyers this new, more modern and global approach, which we have created for this trade fair along with Abiplast", says Liliane Bortoluci, Director for Industry Trade Fairs for Reed Exhibitions, the organizer of the event. "It is a challenge with real obligations, because the event needs to represent and meet both the demands of the industry and the market in general. This is exactly why we have already confirmed large traditional enterprises and brands at the International Plastics Fair, in addition to the traditional entities that have supported the event in the past". Together with Abiplast and Abiquim, FEIPLASTIC also supports the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment (Abimaq) and the Industry Union of São Paulo Plastic Resins (Siresp). According to Juan Pablo De Vera, president of Reed Exhibitions Alcantara Machado, it was the joint effort of all these entities together with the organizers that have enabled the emergence of a completely new and revitalised trade fair. "It has taken months of work and testing to define this new product concept. We have signed another 20-year contract with the association and now we have the challenge to innovate and make Brazil the best business location for the whole production chain". Planning for publicizing the event has also included special initiatives in order to promote the strengthening of brand internationalization. Therefore, the FEIPLASTIC trade fair has been promoted in all 35 offices that Reed maintains worldwide. Overall, investment in the organization should reach R$ 5 million, divided into 36 national vehicles, seven international vehicles, and various initiatives on internet social networks, among other media outlets. The fair takes place from May 20th to 24th, 2013, at Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion, in São Paulo. FEIPLASTIC 2013 will occupy 85,000 m² of the Anhembi Exhibition Pavilion, and will unite about 1,400 exhibiting brands, with an estimated 70,000 visitors / buyers, among the various manufacturers, technicians, engineers, industry professionals and processors for plastic products. Between them they will represent the most varied and important sectors of the plastics industry, which is divided into the three main pillars of the event: Business, Technology and Sustainability. FEIPLASTIC also offers other platforms for commercial interchange, like Club Premium, e-business tools and online advertising. The fair serves all sectors of the plastics production chain:
