At Plastimagen, Braskem Idesa presents its new polyethylene plant in Mexico

March, 8, 2016 - For the third time, Braskem Idesa exhibits at Plastimagen, the most important Plastics trade fair in Mexico. During the exhibition, the company is presenting its new petrochemical complex which will start operating by the end of March. The complex comprises two HDPE plants and one LDPE production facility. Braskem Idesa´s Application Engineering and Commercial teams are also available during the show to to provide clients with information on a variety of solutions in plastics conversion.

The two plants of High Density Polyethylene have the capability to manufacture monomodal and bimodal resins which can be used in an efficient manner in applications such as packaging for detergents and cleaning products, food and chemical products, as well as for recipients, boxes, bags, and others.

The resin grades obtained from the Low Density Polyethylene plant can be used to manufacture a variety of products such as highly transparent films for food wrapping, frozen products, laminated films and agricultural films, as well as for packaging of chemical and industrial products.

Braskem Idesa´s petrochemical complex, located near Veracruz, is a Brazilian-Mexican joint venture corresponding to a USD 6.2 billion investment, comprising an ethane cracker, two HDPE plants with production capacities of 400,000 and 350,000 tons per year, as well as a LDPE plant with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year.
