During Plast2012, Clariant powers Italian plastics processors performance.

April 20, 2012 - Clariant puts the needs of Italian plastics processors at the heart of its presence at Plast 2012, as it showcases the latest in sustainability-focused innovations at Booth B / C4 5 Pavilion 9.

Underlined by Clariant's commitment to "Power Your Performance", the specialty chemicals expert's Business Units Masterbatches and Additives will present novel and attention-grabbing product and processing solutions to manufacturers' productivity, differentiation and environment-related challenges.

Clariant's latest developments support design creativity and such factors as sustainability, reduction of resin and/or energy consumption, weightsavings, and opportunities to speed-up development and time-to-market. Clariant will feature a host of developments in masterbatches, liquid masterbatches, combibatches, and additives focused on enhancing processing performance and functionality of a broad spectrum of plastics applications.

Highlights of new products and support services on-show at Plast include:

  •  New, brighter colors and eye-catching special effects added to Clariant's RENOL®-compostable range of masterbatches for the packaging sector, in particular personal care applications.
  •  Clariant's newly-released ColorForward™ 2013 color forecasting guide for the plastics industry will support the Italian market in anticipating insight up-coming trends and consumer color preferences for the future.
  •  Clariant's flexible delivery format approach includes advanced Liquid technology for a wide range of carriers, from PET through to engineering plastics. Customized to customer needs, the technology supports low dosage rate and less waste, very good color distribution, and quick and easy color change for customers.
  •  New Exolit® EP non-halogenated flame retardants for thermosetting epoxy resins. These highly-effective flame retardants expand Clariant's pioneering Exolit range of safer, more sustainable alternatives for achieving fire protection for consumer electronics and electrical equipment and the transport
    and construction sectors. Low dosage effectiveness reduces material usage.
  •  New Hostavin NOW® technology includes a new range of highperformance UV-stabilizer solutions for agricultural films. This cutting-edge development is the latest addition to Clariant's range of reliable and effective specialty polymer additives offering multiple high performance effects for niche applications based on polyolefins and engineering plastics.
  •  New Licocare™ SBW11 TP is an effective, PVC processing innovation based on a renewable source that supports the industry move towards sustainable compounds.
  •  Advances in and strong commitment to montan waxes as solution providers for e.g. processing of engineering resins Clariant has a long-standing relationship with Italy's plastics sector. Masterbatch liquids and combibatches are produced in Italy and the European headquarters of Clariant's global ColorWorks™ network is also located in Italy. ColorWorks helps customers to accelerate the color development process to shorten the production of new products. Clariant BU Additives has supported both the polyolefin and engineering plastics components of the Italian market for many years. The emphasis in Italy continues with developments both in traditional applications such as Agriculture, or in new fields such as E&E and automotive.
