Braskem launches Flexus 9212XP resin, providing efficiency gains for packaging applications.

28/03/2011

Innovative solution maintains the Coefficient of Friction value of laminated films stable during the manufacturing, transport and storage phases

To meet the market demands for more efficient resins, Braskem has just launched the resin Flexus 9212XP (extra performance), which was developed at its Technology and Innovation Center and features greater stability in the CoF value after laminating, as well as high resistance to punctures and impacts, a low sealing temperature and excellent Hot Tack.

CoF is a very important property for the flexible film chain, since it indicates the ease of unreeling on extrusion, printing and lamination lines and, especially, on automated packaging machines. The market required an alternative for maintaining the CoF value of laminated films stable during all phases of the manufacturing, transport and storage processes, in order to prevent efficiency losses in automatic packaging processes.

The laminated films produced by Braskem's clients using this new product have presented excellent stability in CoF values, even after exposure to high temperatures (40 to 60 °C) that simulate critical conditions during transport and storage. "Driven by its concern with adding value to the production chain, Braskem launches this world-class innovative solution, which reinforces our commitment to better serving our clients," said Luiz Carlos Da Poian, the account manager of this segment.
