Romi consolidates its position in the international market presenting its new machines at K 2013

The company strengthens its international presence by launching its new machines at the most important trade show, the K 2013

October 16, 2013 - Indústrias Romi SA, a leading Brazilian company in the machine tools and plastic processing machine sector, is present at the most important worldwide trade show, the K 2013, which is being held from October 16 to 23, 2013, in Dusseldorf, Germany. Romi shows its machines on its 400m² booth, located at Hall 15 / Booth D40.

“Romi has decided to consolidate its position in the international market of injection moulding machines and stamping Romi brand in the machines was a decision that confirms the intentions of the company, as well as gives confidence and strength to Sandretto brand” says the International Sales Manager, Monica Romi Zanatta. She added that “Romi has over 80 years of history and more than 150.000 installed machines worldwide, a milestone conquered with quality and technology that only a selected few can claim”.

Luiz Cassiano Rando Rosolen, the CFO & Supply Chain Director complemented that “having an international presence since 1944, Romi has an expertise supplying machines worldwide and managing sales and service through its subsidiaries located in the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, France and Mexico. Since 2008, Romi strengthened its global presence around the world in the plastic machinery industry and reinforced its determination to be globally well structured.”

For the event, Romi is introducing its new machines, developed using state-of-the-art technology and first class manufacturing processes. The new machines to be demonstrated are the Romi EN 450 and the Romi EL 75, and also the recent launched Romi EL 300. William dos Reis, the Director of Plastic Business Unit said “Those machines combine high technology, energy efficiency and productivity. Romi is focused on the market needs and customers want performance at a competitive cost. This is the combination that Romi delivers to its customer.”

Romi product range:

  • EN Series - This series is dedicated to general purpose applications. Equipped with pumps driven by an inverter-controlled motor, comprises machines from 70 to 450 metric tons of clamping force.
  • EL Series - This series of fully-electric machine comprises models from 75 to 300 tons of clamping force. This machine series is dedicated to technical and engineering applications.
  • Primax Series - This series comprises hydraulic and hybrid machines, with a range from 220 to 1500 metric tons of clamping force.

Romi EL 75 and ROMI EL 300

For technical and engineering applications the company is showing the two new additions to the all-electric EL Series, with 75 and a 300 tonne of clamping force. Using the technology and experience on the CNC machinery, the whole series count on ball-screw and servo driven movements. The result is a quiet machine which is fast, frugal and precise. Operating noise levels are less than 60 dB, average energy savings up to 60% compared to current hydraulic machines and up to 80% when compared to older technology and movement accuracy is on the hundredths of a millimetre. These are the first two models to use the new control CM15, an user friendly 15” touch-screen control with full connectivity via Internet, VNC Server, FTP server and PVI server.

ROMI EN 450

The EN Series is the most recent range of machines released by Romi. Designed to fill the needs of those looking for a high value, highly efficient machine, compact, with low noise level, easy to operate and to maintain. Equipped with pumps driven by an inverter-controlled motor that provides energy savings without compromising performance, the benchmark for energy savings is 40% and for like comparison to a fix-displacement pump machine of similar size the reductions where of 66%. Supported by the good acceptance of the range from the market, Romi is expanding the EN Series that will count on a 380 and a 450 tonne. At K 2013 the company will be exhibiting the EN 450.

William dos Reis reinforced that “the company’s focus on recent models is clear: more precision, more efficiency, more productivity and less energy consumption. While energy consumption is an obvious and well-justified focus of the industry present on all new design, the new high levels of precision is the true unsung hero. Being capable of delivering the right dosage, cycle after cycle, means less overshooting, therefore, less material waste.”
