Arburg at Chinaplas 2026: Premiere of Allrounder Trend in Asia

April, 29, 2026 - Chinaplas 2026 was a great success for Arburg, the German company has reported. Not only the exhibition itself, but also the Arburg stand attracted visitors in great numbers. The Asian premiere of the Allrounder Trend electric standard machines was well received among the visitors, also featuring the new Gestica lite basic control system. Overall, Arburg presented itself as a reliable provider of innovative, high-quality and efficient complete solutions to its customers and prospective clients from China, Asia and around the world at the leading international trade fair in Shanghai.

“At Chinaplas 2026, we demonstrated that the Asian market is of enormous importance to us. We delivered performance in every respect: From the robotic system developed specifically for Asia, through the new Trend standard machines, to complex production cells that we realise in collaboration with local partners”, summarised Dr Volker Nilles, CEO at Arburg. He had travelled from the company’s headquarters in Lossburg with a high-ranking delegation that also included Guido Frohnhaus, CTO, and Tobias Baur, Managing Director Sales and After Sales. “We see it as a very positive sign that our stand was extremely well attended, that we were able to speak with high-profile customers, and that we have already sold two exhibits directly at Chinaplas”.

New machine concept

“The Allrounder Trend is our response to changing market requirements, which include fast time-to-market and intense price pressure. However, it is not just about price advantages. Rather, we provide our customers with comprehensive support in reducing their costs and increasing efficiency,” emphasises Zhao Tong, Managing Director of Arburg China. “Interest in the new standard machines and in our local-to-local strategy is extremely high. Another focus is on digitalisation and the smart factory – here too, we can score points with our producs and decades of expertise.”

Trade visitors were able to see for themselves the added value offered by the new standard machines, including simple, intuitive operation, high-quality technology, short delivery lead times and low total cost of ownership (TCO). Furthermore, the Allrounder Trend machines can be set up very quickly indeed and they are easy to maintain, the German manufacturer says. At the Arburg stand, a machine with a clamping force of 1,000 kN and an injection speed of 350 millimetres per second was producing thin-walled plug connectors made of liquid crystal polymer (LCP). The second standard machine showcased the automated production of a gear made of POM. It was equipped with an Arburg Flexlift linear robot, something only available in Asia.

Complete solutions: Expertise from Arburg and its partners

A fully automated exhibit centred around a vertical rotary table machine, the Allrounder 1600 T, which performed overmoulding on metal inserts with PBT to produce ready-to-use automotive connectors, demonstrated that Arburg is also an expert in customer-specific production cells. Two six-axis robots were used for complex handling tasks. Turnkey systems of this level of complexity are designed at the Arburg Technology Factory (ATF) in Pinghu and are then built and implemented in collaboration with local partners. The Allrounder Trend machines for the Asian market are also assembled in Pinghu.

Moreover, Arburg presented its comprehensive range of services and showcased itself as a solution partner for the key topics of digitalisation and the smart factory. Here, the company’s own MES – the Arburg host computer system ALS – as well as the customer portal arburgXworld and the new Gestica lite control system impressed visitors with their smart assistance and pilot functions.
