March, 9, 2026 – As part of the Plast Press Tour organized by Promaplast from February 24-26, a group of 25 international journalists visited the plants of Moretto in Massanzago (Padua, Italy).
Founded in 1980 by Mr. Renato Moretto, Moretto is a leading company in the research, development and production of automated systems for the plastics processing industry with four production plants in Italy and one in Poland, in addition to 10 international offices serving customers in more than 70 countries around the world. Moretto offers solutions for feeding & conveying, dosing, drying, granulation, temperature control, process cooling, storage, integrated system supervision & management. It holds 169 international patents. Recent developments includes MOWIS, the 4.0 supervision and management software which allows for managing the whole production process by connecting and controlling all the solutions.
Experience at the service of innovation
Moretto says it has grown through continuous research and product innovation, a strong focus on customer needs and a strategic vision capable of understanding the challenges of the market.According to the company, knowledge of the industry and polymer transformation processes, combined with over 45 years of experience and human capital, allows Moretto to adopt a quality-oriented approach to designs.
Research and Innovation
Moretto says that research drives the company to focus on detail and create ever-improving products and technological solutions, while also allowing it to go beyond the boundaries of what has been done before.
The Italian manufactuer has had a mathematical simulator for parallel computing since 2009, when it acquired the Leonardo simulator. It has played a key role in supporting the technological development of the company, helping also in its "attention to detail" approach.
The company invests more than 6% of its turnover in Research and Development and has a research laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and simulators where solutions are tested and refined. “To innovate means to go beyond the limit where others stop, to raise a challenge every day to improve oneself and one’s own work and to create value for our customers”, says Mr. Renato Moretto.
In addition, the multifunctional showroom serves as a hub where R&D, testing, and training intersect, accelerating development cycles and promoting synergies between the company and its customers.
Complete control over the process and Verticalization
Moretto has put emphasis on a vertically integrated industrial model. The company claims to have reached a 74% degree of verticalization in its operations. This involves managing key product development processes in-house, from prototype design to industrialisation and the critical stages of installation, training and after-sales support. Direct control of processes and key components provides rigorous, constant quality control of product and services.
Strategic expansion in Massanzago
The expansion of the production area represents the natural evolution of steady organic growth that has seen Moretto strengthen its international presence. The brand new facilites presented during the Plast Press Tour, with a total area of 13,000 square meters, will be physically and functionally integrated with the other existing facilities, optimizing industrial planning and improving the ability to respond to customer requests.

Moretto in Motion
Mounted on a truck, a mobile show room of Moretto´s range of auxiliary equipment is set to be in motion for its first tour across Europe from March to November, 2026. The goal of the mobile show room it to take Moretto´s products and solutions to customers wherever they are located, as many professionals can´t attend exhibitions to get in touch with new developments in the sector.
Artificial Intelligence at the service of human beings
The integration of a new AI-assisted service desk platform represents a step forward for Moretto's support service. This technology optimises analysis and provides rapid, accurate responses, supporting the expert team in interpreting complex dynamics. Remote connection guarantees immediate intervention, maximising operational continuity.
Global presence: Moretto de México
The recent opening of the Moretto de Mexico branch in Querétaro aims to respond quickly and effectively to local market demands. “This expansion represents a strategic step in the company's international growth. We are excited about strengthening our presence in a dynamic, opportunity-rich market, delivering value to our local customers and improving support with an ever-more efficient service," confirms Renato Moretto, president of the company.
Transforming waste into value
In a context where sustainability has become an essential requirement, recycling plays a fundamental role in the future of the plastics industry. The ability to recover, treat and reintegrate polymers into production processes significantly reduces environmental impact, limiting the consumption of virgin raw materials and cutting CO2 emissions.
Moretto offers a series of technologies focused on achieving efficiency of the recycling process while also preserving the functional and aesthetic properties of the material. These technologies include:
- - Hyper Cut, the low-speed grinder for different types of waste pieces.
- - MPK, the crystallizer for amorphous materials.
- - DGM Gravix Maxi, the gravimetric batch blender for rPET bottle flakes.
Plast 2026: a display of innovations
In an industrial context increasingly focused on high performance, traceability and sustainability, Moretto will display important innovations in drying, gravimetric dosing and material traceability technology at the Plast exhibition in Milan.
X-Comb dehumidification system
X-Comb, the innovative flexible dehumidification system for technical polymers using honeycomb technology, will be displayed at the show. According to the company, it is a compact solution that guarantees high-quality dehumidification regardless of environmental conditions while also combining high performance with maximum flexibility of use. The range has been recently expanded with the introduction of two new models: X Comb 19 and X Comb 20, designed for processing techno polymers at production rates of up to 60 kg/h.
The gravimetric batch blender series
DGM Gravix, the gravimetric batch blender series, allows for the highest levels of dosing precision and complete production flexibility, Moretto claims. The range consists of 10 sizes with 1.180 models satisfying production requirements of up to 12.000 kg/h. It has recently been expanded with the DGM Gravix 20 and DGM Gravix 50 models, which are ideal for compact solutions in the medical, optical and electronic industries for productions of up to 60 kg/h.
Ensuring traceability
DELPHY, the renewed manual manifold with RFID control, features new construction and technological innovations designed to increase the level of safety, precision, and traceability in material-machine allocation processes. Thanks to stainless steel construction, DELPHY guarantees safe, contamination-free transport and ensures that the plastic material only comes into contact with the stainless steel, Moretto claims.
Breakthrough in Grinding
According to Moretto, HYPER CUT is a powerful, durable high-performance grinder built for intensive use, capable of operating continuously while delivering consistent high performance, day after day. Designed for a wide range of applications, HYPER CUT is ideal for grinding waste pieces, sprues, blown parts and other regrindable materials in the injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding and thermoforming sectors.
With a team of 450 people, Moretto supplies products and services to companies operating in the automotive, medical, optical, beverage, packaging, electronics, white goods, technical molding, PET and recycling sectors. The company claims its systems are characterized by a low environmental impact thanks to their high energy efficiency. All energy used in the production plants comes from Dolomitas hydropower generation.
