VDMA presents “The Power of Plastics Forum“ at the K 2025: Green – Smart – Responsible
October 1, 2025 - True to the motto of K 2025, “The Power of Plastics – Green. Smart. Responsible.”, the VDMA Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association, together with over 50 member companies and partners, is once again organising a trend-setting technology forum in the outdoor grounds of the world's leading plastics trade fair. “With over 70 percent of exhibitors and visitors from abroad, K is the most international trade fair in the world. The trending topics of the plastics industry are played out here, while at the same time K 2025 offers orientation and stability in turbulent times,” emphasises Thorsten Kühmann (photo), Managing Director of the association. "It is also the trade fair for innovation, and we are offering our members and partners a platform at the forum for this purpose.“ Trend-setting plastics technologies live at the forum Plastic products ensure supply and prosperity, and are becoming increasingly sustainable. The transformation towards a circular economy is in full swing. Mechanical engineering plays a key role in this regard: enabling recyclable product design and the recycling of plastic waste into high-quality recyclates and their processing. The forum is entirely dedicated to the K motto, and will reveal what lies behind it:
The forum will showcase technologies in action: visitors to the exhibition can experience the three dimensions of green, smart and responsible live in six company pavilions. The VDMA Pavillon: technology, dialogue and promotion of young talent The VDMA will once again be represented through its own pavilion. Visitors can expect a varied programme focusing on the circular economy, digitalisation and careers. Highlights include: • Product gallery “Green. Smart. Responsible.” 30 exhibits will show how modern plastic products combine sustainability, smart technologies and social responsibility. Each profile highlights the aspects of green, smart and responsible and points the way towards a circular future. • Daily presentations and event programme -•Company pitches on technology highlights The individual days of the fair will focus on topics such as Circular Thursday, Climate Friday and Innovation Monday. In keeping with the theme of the day, member companies will present their technological highlights in five-minute pitches. •Digitalisation & AI on Smart Saturday Digital solutions for increasing efficiency, greater transparency in production and material flows, and developing new business models along the plastics process chain will be presented, such as the digital product passport and the use of digital twins. •Young Talents Time & Career Sunday Young professionals design their own programme items and engage in discussions with experts.
